June 13, 2006 - A Building Proposal Committee Is Formed
At a joint meeting of the elders and deacons on June 13, 2006, a motion was passed unanimously "To form a
committee consisting of one ruling elder, one deacon and the chairman of each church committee including the
Women in the Church chairman to work out the details, within session guidelines, of a "proposal to build" that would be
presented to the congregation for a vote.  Teaching Elder John Irwin would also serve on the commission in an
advisory role."

    August 27, 2006 - Proposal Committee Completes Its Proposal
The final draft of the proposal committee was approved unanimously and submitted to the session and congregation.

September 3, 2006 - Congregation Passes Building Proposal

    
September 11, 2006 - Deacons Set Up Building Fund
Deacon Hoyt Woodward volunteered to oversee the new building fund.  Details regarding a future building committee
were discussed and it was decided that a building committee would be formed when the fund reached $60,000.

    
February, 2007 - Building Fund Passes $15,000

    
October 16, 2007 - Session Adopts a Goal for the Building Fund
As recommended by the Deacon Board, the session adopted a non-binding goal for the building fund for the year to
reach the $60,000 mark by September, 2008.  The church will be encouraged to support this goal.

      
May 12, 2008 - Building Fund Passes $30,000
Included in recent contributions were the proceeds from a yard sale that the teenagers from the Challenger Pioneer
Club organized and held at their leader's house, totaling over $700.

   
December 31, 2008 - Building Fund Over $40,000
A new goal is set for the $60,000 to be reached by the end of 2009.  Over $21,000 was given in calendar year 2008 and
the fund by the first of February, 2009 rests around $42,000.

     
May 10, 2009 - Building Fund Over $50,000
When JonDavid Droke gave $50 from his and the church's collection of aluminum cans, the building fund reached the
$50,000 mark.  Only $10,000 to go before the next step is reached and a committee is formed!

      
June 14, 2009 - Gift from Sister Church Boosts Fund
An announcement was made Sunday morning upon the receipt of a $3,000 gift from Christ Community Church in
Johnson City.  This gift boosted the fund over $54,000 and was great cause for joy!

       
August 16, 2009 - Homecoming Gifts and Large Gift Marks Achievement of Initial Goal
Our friends and church family celebrated God's work at Arcadia for nearly 140 years together on a special Sunday.  Due
in part to a very large gift of $5,000, the church also unexpectedly celebrated meeting the initial goal of $60,000 which
will spur the formation of a building committee to oversee planning of the project.

         
October 14, 2009 - Building Committee Has First Meeting
After an organizational meeting, the Building met together for the first time to begin the task of planning to build a new
sanctuary.  Steve Johnson was elected the chairman by the committee members (Kathy Campbell, Ralph Campbell,
Charlie Nutter, Mary Alice Surgenor, and Robbie Walker are the other members.)

          
January, 2010 - Building Fund Reaches $70,000
Another milestone reached!  The Building Committee is hard at work.  A land donation of nearly 1/3 acre with deed in
hand at the beginning of 2010 will allow the committee to begin making concrete plans for the addition.

            April 25, 2010 - Building Fund Passes $90,000
After generous giving and a large donation, the fund passes $90,000.   Less than $30,000 to go in order to build!

          October, 2010 - Building Fund Passes $100,000!

           
October 23, 2010 - Session Authorizes Site Preparation Work from Fund
Anticipating God's direction on the building project, the session authorized the deacons and the Building Committee to
go ahead with site preparation work including septic work, tile by the road, and leveling the building site.  The fund is
currently over $101,000 and less that $19,000 is needed before construction of the building begins.

             
June, 2011 - Building Fund Under $10,000 to go!

             September 25, 2011 - Phase One Building Fund Goal of $120,000 reached!
